In this role, you will support lead teachers in creating a nurturing, engaging, and educational environment for preschool children. Your active participation will foster curiosity, social skills, and early literacy and numeracy development, setting the stage for lifelong learning success. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with children, educators, and families in a dynamic classroom setting. Duties Assist lead teachers in implementing daily lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, including literacy education, math activities, and social-emotional learning. Support classroom management by encouraging positive behavior and helping children develop self-regulation skills through effective behavior management strategies. Engage children in age-appropriate activities that promote early childhood development, including toddler care and Montessori-inspired exercises. Help create a safe and inclusive classroom environment by supervising children during activities, transitions, and outdoor play. Collaborate with teachers to monitor individual progress of students with special needs or disabilities, including those with autism or other developmental delays. Aid in preparing educational materials and classroom setups that support curriculum development and hands-on learning experiences. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about children's progress and classroom events to foster strong home-school connections. Skills Strong understanding of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices. Experience working with young children in daycare, preschool, or private school settings. Knowledge of special education strategies and working effectively with individuals with disabilities or autism. Proficiency in lesson planning tailored to preschool learners that incorporates literacy education, math concepts, and behavior management techniques. Excellent communication skills to collaborate with teachers, parents, and team members effectively. Ability to manage classroom dynamics confidently while maintaining a positive learning environment. Familiarity with early childhood curricula is a plus. Compassionate approach to working with children of diverse backgrounds and needs, including toddlers and preschoolers requiring individualized attention.
