Job Description

All positions are on-site, located in Tyler, Texas, unless otherwise stated in the job posting. ABOUT Assistant Camp Instructors provide operational and supervisory support during summer camp programming. Working under the direction of the Camp Instructor, Assistant Instructors help maintain organization, assist with camper supervision, and support activity facilitation to ensure a safe, positive, and engaging camp experience. Assistant Instructors do not have responsibility for curriculum preparation or independent program leadership.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Camp Support Assist the Camp Instructor with setup, organization, and cleanup of camp activities. Help distribute and manage materials, equipment, and supplies used during camp sessions. Support the instructor in keeping activities organized and running smoothly. Camper Supervision Help monitor campers during activities, transitions, and breaks. Reinforce camp rules and expectations to maintain a safe environment. Assist campers who need additional help during activities. Help ensure campers remain engaged and participating appropriately. Safety and Communication Remain attentive to camper safety and report concerns to the Camp Instructor. Immediately notify the instructor or camp leadership of injuries, incidents, or behavioral concerns. Assist in maintaining a positive and inclusive environment for all campers. Team Support Follow directions from the Camp Instructor and Camp Director. Work collaboratively with instructors and fellow assistants to support daily camp operations. Help ensure campers have a fun and positive camp experience.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
No Direct Supervision Work Environment:
Work may include indoor and outdoor settings and may occur outside standard business hours.
Physical Demands:
Ability to lift or move up to 30 lbs. Ability to participate in games and recreational activities Ability to remain attentive while supervising campers
Travel Required:
No If travel is required, the candidate must have and maintain a current, valid Texas driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
WHO YOU ARE
Required Education High School Diploma or equivalent Preferred Experience Experience working with youth ages 4-17 Additional Job-Specific Requirements Must pass background check, including fingerprinting and sex offender registry check. Ability to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions. Ability to participate in camp activities and maintain an energetic presence.
