Job Description

Job Summary:
The Summer Education Assistant supports the Children's Discovery Museum of the Golden Crescent's summer educational programming through program preparation, camp support, classroom organization, and hands-on assistance during activities and events. This temporary, part-time position works closely with the Education Team to help create engaging learning experiences for children and families in a fun, fast-paced museum environment.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Assist with preparation, setup and cleanup for daily programs, camps, and activities. Support Museum educators during camps, workshops, and special events. Help supervise and engage children during educational activities. Organize, restock, and maintain educational materials and supplies. Assist with organization of classrooms, storage areas, and education office spaces. Maintain clean, safe, and welcoming program environments. Interact positively with children, families, staff, and volunteers. Attend training, meetings, and staff check-ins as scheduled. Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Enjoys working with children and families. Friendly, dependable, and team oriented. Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment. Willingness to learn and assist with a variety of tasks. Reliable attendance and punctuality.
Education and Experience:
High school student, high school graduate, or college student preferred. Experience working with children or educational programs is helpful but not required.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, lift, and carry materials up to 25 pounds. Must be comfortable working in active indoor and outdoor environments with children and families.
Pay:
$7.50 - $8.00 per hour
