08/03/2026 Is Grant Funded?: No Job Description Summary Primary duties of full time faculty include teaching courses in the approved discipline, providing instruction to facilitate student acquisition of the specific learning outcomes identified for the assigned courses, as well as recruiting, advising, and mentoring students in and outside of the classroom. The faculty member creates and maintains an effective learning environment in the modalities of the courses assigned, be they face-to-face, hybrid, online, or within the context of dual credit instruction. Full time faculty members are also responsible for participation in professional development activities, serving on college committees, developing and updating curriculum, textbook, equipment selection and instructional materials. Faculty members are expected to maintain familiarity with and adhere to College policies and procedures. Develop clinical assignments for student placement and clinical contracts. Qualifications All faculty members must meet Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) academic, oral and written English proficiency requirements. All full time faculty members must demonstrate a willingness and abilities to teach day, evening and/or weekend classes in face-to-face, hybrid, online, and dual credit environments. Must have a current Texas license and have a minimum of a Masters in OT Required Education All faculty members must possess minimum Southern Association of Colleges and Schools credential standards for faculty teaching courses designed for workforce certificate or degree completion. These standards include an appropriate academic degree and demonstrated competencies in the teaching discipline. Masters in OT or a COTA with a Bachelors degree Preferred Education Masters in OT COTA with a Bachelors Degree Required Experience Must have at least 3 years work experience as a OT or OTA Preferred Experience Must have at least 3 years work experience as a OT or OTA Essential Duties and Responsibilities Primary duties of full time faculty include teaching courses in the approved discipline, providing instruction to facilitate student acquisition of the specific learning outcomes identified for the assigned courses, as well as recruiting, advising, and mentoring students in and outside of the classroom. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Each full time faculty member must demonstrate the ability to develop curriculum and instruct in face-to-face, hybrid, online, and dual credit courses; ability to provide instruction that will achieve the specific goals and objectives associated with all assigned courses; ability to create a professional and effective learning environment in the classroom and/or laboratory; ability to communicate effectively with students, college personnel and administration, peers and public groups; ability to treat all persons with respect, dignity and justice, without discrimination based upon age, sex, race, color, religion, national origin, disability, veteran status, genetic information, sexual orientation or gender identity; ability to exercise the highest professional and ethical standards in the use of College time and resources; and, ability to observe the stated policies and procedures of the College.
