Monday-Friday (Flexible scheduling within operating hours) Position Summary Northstar Preschools is seeking a dependable, flexible, and nurturing Breaker/Support Teacher to assist in classrooms serving children ages 6 weeks to 12 years. This position plays a vital role in maintaining smooth daily operations by providing staff breaks, assisting with daily routines, and supporting classrooms wherever needed. The ideal candidate is adaptable, organized, and confident working with a variety of age groups. This role requires someone who thrives in a team environment and understands the importance of consistency and structure for young children. Responsibilities Provide scheduled breaks and coverage for classroom teachers Assist with infant care including feeding, diapering, and soothing Support potty training efforts in toddler and preschool classrooms Help supervise nap time and ensure a calm, safe environment Assist with meal and snack times following CACFP guidelines Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in classrooms Support classroom management and positive behavior guidance Help with playground supervision Communicate professionally with staff and families as needed Follow all state licensing regulations and center policies Qualifications Must be at least 18 years old High school diploma or equivalent required Experience working with children preferred Ability to pass background check Strong communication and teamwork skills Reliable transportation Skills & Qualities We're Looking For Positive, patient, and consistent Ability to transition between age groups smoothly Strong classroom management skills Dependable and punctual Passion for working with children Flexible and willing to jump in where needed Strong understanding of structure and routine What We Offer Supportive team environment Opportunities for professional growth Meaningful and rewarding work Health benefits Discounted childcare Annual paid training and professional development If you are someone who enjoys variety in your day and loves supporting both children and teachers, this position is a wonderful opportunity to make a meaningful impact across our entire center.
