Job Summary Under the supervision of the full-time social work administrative assistant, the program coordinator works in collaboration with the social work academic department, faculty and administrative assistant to manage social work student needs as well as plan and carry out social work program orientations and events. The social work program coordinator will work with program faculty, academic advising, and the program administrative assistant to guide students effectively through the specified sequence of education coursework required for the Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) Certificate and other related social work program certificates and degrees. The workload for this position varies throughout the semester depending on program and student needs. Work assigned will be carried out at various SLCC campus locations and will require an on-campus presence at least 2-3 days per week. Essential Duties & Responsibilities & Knowledge Skills & Abilities The part-time social work program coordinator position is integral to the success of the Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) certificate as well as other work force ready programs within the department., This position requires a collaborative and supportive relationship with faculty, staff, students, and community partners. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Organized and able to communicate clearly. Be willing to contribute to the vision and growth of the social work program to meet behavioral healthcare needs in creative and innovative ways that support the holistic well-being and growth of Salt Lake Community College's social work programs. Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of people with a variety of abilities and backgrounds, to maintain good working relationships across the College. Ability to work with all groups from a variety of academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds, and with community college students, faculty, and staff, including those with disabilities. Ability to efficiently use computers and software, such as Canvas and Microsoft 365 (including Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, Forms, etc.) Ability to learn, comprehend and then disseminate information about the social work certificates/program, the College system and resources, etc. Minimum qualifications Ability to obtain a BHT and/or SUDC licensure through DOPL within 12 months of hire date.
