Job Summary The STEM Assistant Instructor is responsible for planning and teaching lessons on Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, Circuits & Drones. An ideal candidate can engage students in hands-on, future-focused STEM learning. Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities 1. Assist with lessons by establishing clear objectives and outlines for lessons and projects. 2. Develop computational and engineering thinking. 3. Promote ethical awareness and responsible technology use. 4. Monitor student performance and assess ongoing progress. 5. Develop meaningful relationships with others and maintain them over time. 6. Duties as assigned by supervisor, including data entry and participating in community events. Qualifications
  • A minimum of two years of experience in education, preferably with elementary or middle school students.
  • Excellent written and verbal English skills.
  • Must demonstrate excellence in a variety of teaching techniques.
  • Must think creatively and problem-solve effectively.
  • Must pass required background checks.
  • Basic knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and instruction. Physical Requirements
  • Ability to see details at close range (i.e. computer usage).
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 30 lbs.
Time Commitment/Pay This is a part-time, contractual position. Instruction period is July 13 th - July 17 th , with some dates beforehand for training. Classes will be held in Alexandria, VA. The salary is $20.00 an hour.
