Pre-Kindergarten Assistant Teacher

James Lee Preschool and Day Care in Falls Church has a summer opening for an experience Pre K Assistant Teacher to work in our four- to five-years old classroom. This position could continue in the Fall of 2026. Qualified candidate will have the opportunity to work full-time Monday through Friday (9:00 AM-5:00PM). We need the right candidate to start immediately.

Our Requirements:

Meet individual state licensing requirements for education, experience and age. Possess a desire to positively influence our children and their families. Possess passion, patience, creativity, flexibility and dedication. Previous work experience (3 years) in a licensed childcare facility. Previous Pre K experience (3 years preferred). Exceptional communication and customer service skills. High school diploma. Child Development Associate (CDA) and/or Early Childhood Education classes a plus! Demonstrable Early Childhood Education (ECE) credits required. Must be able to pass criminal background checks. Applicants must be reliable, self-motivated, eager to learn and flexible. Responsibilities Assist the lead teacher in implementing daily lesson plans and activities that promote early childhood education and development. Manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive learning environment. Provide individualized attention and support to students, fostering their social and emotional growth. Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities. Ensure a safe and nurturing environment for all children, adhering to childcare regulations and standards.
