Job Description

  • supporting Prince William County Public Schools and help create meaningful change in the lives of students with diverse learning and behavioral needs. In this role, you will work alongside educators and behavioral specialists to foster safe, structured, and engaging learning environments where students can thrive.
  • Position Summary
  • The•Behavior Technician supports the delivery of educational and behavioral services for students with special needs.
  • This position involves working collaboratively with teachers, school staff, and behavioral professionals to implement individualized strategies that promote student growth, independence, and success.
  • Behavior Technicians primarily support
  • moderate to severe special education classrooms
  • , working with small groups of students and assisting with behavior management, academic engagement, and daily classroom activities.
  • Key Responsibilities
  • + •Implement behavior intervention strategies and support individualized student plans•+ •Assist teachers with classroom instruction and daily activities•+ •Provide positive reinforcement, redirection, and de-escalation techniques•+ •Support students with intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, and behavioral challenges•+ •Collaborate with teachers, BCBAs, and school staff to meet student goals•+ •Maintain a safe and structured classroom environment•+ •Adapt to different classroom needs while remaining assigned to one school•Minimum Qualifications•+ •High School Diploma or equivalent required•+ •Minimum of 18 years of age•+ •At least two (2) years of pediatric or school-based experience preferred•+ •Current CPR certification (if applicable)•+ •TB screening (PPD, questionnaire, or chest X-ray as required)•+ •Must meet all federal, state, and local employment requirements•What We're Looking For•+ •Experience working with students with special needs (autism, behavioral challenges, etc.

  • Prince William County Public Schools (assigned to one school)

Schedule:
  • Monday - Friday, approximately 35 hours per week

  • August 17, 2026 (orientation week)

  • 39 weeks (full school year)
