Job Description

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and energetic Assistant Teacher to support the Lead Teacher in creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment. The Assistant Teacher will help implement lesson plans, supervise students, and contribute to a positive classroom experience that promotes academic, social, and emotional growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Lead Teacher in planning and delivering instructional activities. Supervise students in the classroom, on the playground, and during field trips or special activities. Support classroom management by reinforcing rules, procedures, and expectations. Help prepare materials and set up learning centers or activities. Provide individual or small group support to students who need additional assistance. Monitor student progress and communicate observations to the Lead Teacher. Assist with daily routines such as arrival, dismissal, lunch, and bathroom breaks. Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment. Foster a welcoming and respectful atmosphere for students, families, and staff. Participate in professional development and training sessions as required.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree or coursework in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred. Prior experience working with children in an educational setting is a plus. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Must pass background checks and meet state or local licensing requirements (if applicable).
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and sit on the floor as needed. Lift up to 30 pounds occasionally. Engage in active play with children both indoors and outdoors.
