In this role, you will support lead teachers in implementing curriculum plans, managing classroom activities, and providing individualized attention to students. Duties Assist lead teachers in developing and executing lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, including literacy, math, and social skills. Support children with special needs by implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) and adapting activities to meet their unique requirements. Foster a positive classroom atmosphere through effective behavior management, communication, and encouragement. Use American Sign Language (ASL) and other communication techniques to facilitate understanding for students with communication challenges. Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment that promotes active learning and child safety. Provide hands-on care for toddlers and preschool-aged children, including diapering, feeding, and supervising playtime. Collaborate with educators and specialists in early childhood development, Montessori methods, or preschool settings to enhance instructional strategies. Requirements Prior experience working with children in educational or childcare settings; classroom management skills are essential. Knowledge of childhood development principles, early childhood education practices, and special education strategies. Familiarity with working with individuals with disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and developmental disabilities. Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, teachers, and support staff; excellent listening skills are vital. Experience with curriculum development, lesson planning, behavior management techniques, and literacy or math instruction preferred. Certification or training in Deaf education or ASL is a plus; experience in private school environments is advantageous. Demonstrated commitment to inclusive education practices and supporting diverse learning needs.
