Job Description

About In-Sight Photography Project:
In-Sight Photography Project is dedicated to providing opportunities for learning and using photography as a technical and expressive medium for personal and artistic growth. Our programs foster creativity, confidence, and a sense of community among participants through engaging photography education.
Position Overview:
The Summer Program Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting In-Sight's mission by assisting with program implementation and providing organization and operational support. This role requires a proactive individual with strong critical thinking, interpersonal, and organizational skills who is passionate about photography and community engagement. The position begins in May and is seasonal until late August or early September.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Support:
Assist the Program Director in the planning and implementation of summer camps and classes. Help track registrations and manage communications among teachers, volunteers, students, and parents.
Class Preparation:
Prepare gear and resources for classes and workshops. Support the teaching of Core and Summer classes as needed.
Gallery and Facility Maintenance:
Maintain and care for the gallery and photography equipment. Assist in the management of the facility to ensure a safe and welcoming environment.
Event and Administration Support:
Support the operation of events and administrative tasks as assigned. Collaborate with the Program Director to market and promote classes, workshops, and events. Collaborate with the staff and board to facilitate tabling and activities at community events and festivals
Intern and Volunteer Coordination:
Work with interns and volunteers to support their roles and facilitate teamwork within the program.
Qualifications:
Passion for photography and education; previous photography experience is a plus. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage effectively with students, staff, and community members. Ability to work collaboratively and supportively with a diverse group of individuals. Critical thinking skills to troubleshoot challenges as they arise. Familiarity with event planning and program implementation is beneficial.
Working Conditions:
Position may require some evening and weekend hours depending on class schedules and events. Must be able to lift and move photography equipment and outreach supplies.
Compensation & Benefits Schedule:
Flexible, half-time position averaging 40 hours per two-week pay period. Some flexibility is required to support occasional evening hours and special events.
Compensation:
Up to $20.00 per hour (approximately $400 per week).

Flexible Schedule Paid time off - 3 days (12 hours) for illness, appointments, or vacation Paid holidays: Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, and Labor Day (if the position extends into September) Complimentary Town of Brattleboro parking permit, valid for the Harris Lot or High/Grove Lot in downtown
