Middle School 1:1 Classroom Assistant Job Description (26-27 School Year) Approx 25 hours/weekPosition OverviewThe Sharon Academy Middle School is seeking a dedicated and collaborative
Paraeducator:
Middle School 1:1 Classroom Assistant to support a students academic, organizational, and social-emotional success.

ResponsibilitiesClassroom & Academic SupportProvide in-class support across humanities, literature, science, and world language courses.

Offer individualized (1:1) academic assistance and clarification of curriculum content.

Check for student understanding and help them break down and complete assignments.

Adapt support based on students evolving academic and developmental needs.

Support implementation of accommodations and modifications outlined in students IEP Executive Functioning CoachingCoach student in organization, planning, time management, task initiation, self-advocacy, and study strategies.

Help student develop routines and systems to promote independence and academic success.

Special Education & Student Support CollaborationParticipate in IEP meetings and team discussions as needed.

Document and communicate observations regarding student progress and support needs.

Work closely with the Director of Academic Services and Academic & Student Support Team to implement individualized strategies and interventions.

CommunicationMaintain regular communication with: Classroom teachersParents/guardiansAcademic & Student Support Team membersParticipate in scheduled in-person meetings and maintain timely, professional email correspondence.

QualificationsValues inclusive education and student-centered support.

Is flexible, proactive, and skilled at building positive rapport with high school students.

Understands or is eager to learn about executive functioning skills and special education practices.
