Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Paraeducator to join our team. This role involves assisting in the daily activities and operations of our programs. The ideal candidate will support the classroom teacher in providing our young learners with a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment in both the indoor and outdoor classroom spaces. Candidates should be enthusiastic about working with children, flexible, open to taking direction, and capable of supporting children socially, emotionally, and academically.
Key Responsibilities:
Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment to meet state state regulations. Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities, ensuring their safety and wellbeing. Assist with the preparation and distribution of snacks and meals. Support and encourage children to develop self-help skills such as toileting, dressing, and handwashing. Assist the Lead teacher in implementing a developmentally appropriate curriculum that fosters children's physical, emotional, social, and intellectual growth. Support children's growth and development through assisting with daily classroom activities, including play-based experiences, arts and crafts, outdoor play, and educational games. Assist the lead teacher with classroom and material preparation. Observe and document children's progress and behavior, reporting any concerns to the Lead Teacher. Communicate effectively with parents and guardians. Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities. Perform other related duties as the Lead Teacher or School Principal assigns.
Qualifications:
A high school diploma or equivalent and an associate's degree in early childhood education or a related field are preferred. Experience working with young children in an early childhood educational setting is highly desirable. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Patience, flexibility, and love for working with young children. First Aid and CPR certification is required.
