Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher Assistant to join our vibrant educational community, in our preschool classroom. In this role, you will work closely with the Lead Preschool teacher to support classroom activities, foster a positive learning environment, and assist with the development of students' academic and social skills. Tiny Dreamers in Early Childhood, LLC is currently seeking a career motivated professional to join our team in our Preschool Classroom - we are early educators and take our work very seriously. The right candidate will commit to consistently working their scheduled hours each week and minimize call outs or absence as consistent attendance supports a foundation that will create strong trust relationships with children and peers; be willing to be flexible as hours are always subject to change, as is classroom placement. We need someone to join our team who can be here and be present with the children. This is an excellent chance to join a friendly, vibrant and dynamic team environment. We are a very small, licensed center looking for the perfect candidate to fill this permanent position within our program - ideal candidates would be those seeking to start in, and remain in the field, and further their education to move up the career ladder and qualify as a Lead Teacher. When staffing allows, we offer paid time during the workday to complete required trainings or for homework time if you are pursuing a degree in Early Childhood education. Duties in Summary Support lead teacher in implementing daily lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, including literacy, math, and social-emotional learning. Assist with classroom management by encouraging positive behavior and maintaining a safe, inclusive environment for all children. Provide individualized support to students with diverse needs, including those with developmental disabilities, autism, or other special education requirements. Use basic American Sign Language (ASL) or other communication methods to facilitate effective interaction with students who are deaf or hard of hearing. Help prepare educational materials, set up learning activities, and organize classroom resources to enhance student engagement. Monitor student progress and document observations related to childhood development and behavior for ongoing assessment planning. Foster strong communication with parents and caregivers regarding student progress and classroom activities, ensuring a collaborative approach to education. Be prepared to explore the outdoor environment during a variety of weather conditions Be able to lift 50 pounds Be comfortable with a variety of cleaning duties, including sanitizing and disinfecting the classroom area and the toys and furniture in it Qualifications MUST be at least 18 years of age, with high school diploma or GED. This is a Vermont State Regulation and is not negotiable (A copy of diploma or GED must be provided upon hire). Must be able to pass a Background check and willing to submit fingerprinting (state regulation, not negotiable). MUST have or be willing to complete the Vermont State Orientation Training, the Mandated Reporting Training and; and complete a 3-CREDIT course in Early Childhood Education (or related field), OR the 45-hour Fundamentals Course. If these criteria are not met at time of hire, you must follow through with completion of
REQUIRED
coursework within the designated time for each training course. This is a Vermont State Regulation and is not negotiable. MUST be or willing to get certified in First Aid /CPR certified within 3 months of hire. This is a Vermont State Regulation and is not negotiable. Prior experience working with preschool children in early childhood settings, preschool programs, or private schools is highly desirable. Knowledge of childhood development theories and practices is highly desirable. Proficiency in classroom management techniques that promote a positive learning environment. Ability to communicate effectively using verbal skills and American Sign Language (ASL) if applicable. Strong organizational skills for lesson planning, curriculum development, and classroom setup. Compassionate attitude with excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with teachers, students, and families.
