In the Montessori classroom, the assistant teacher provides supervision over the classroom community and students' work, with a keen awareness of the functioning of the whole classroom while also honoring the needs of the individual. The assistant is responsible for the cleanliness, order, and maintenance of the beauty of the classroom environment to ensure that the children have the necessary tools and time to devote themselves to their work, building a cohesive community, and continuing to develop the love of learning. Bainbridge Island Montessori is looking for a positive, flexible individual and will train the right person.
