Job Description

Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Support incredible students in a collaborative school environment as a Paraprofessional Behavior Aide. This contract position offers you the chance to work closely with educators to provide essential academic and behavioral support, ensuring every learner receives the encouragement and guidance needed for success. You'll play a crucial role in helping students develop positive behaviors and reach their potential each day.
Desired Qualifications & Experience:
Experience working with children or adolescents, preferably in a school or special education setting Familiarity with behavioral intervention strategies and de-escalation techniques Ability to follow and implement behavior intervention plans as directed by special education staff Strong communication skills for collaborating with teachers, staff, and families Patience, empathy, and a professional demeanor Ability to assist with lifting, mobility, and personal care tasks if required
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-on-one and small-group support to students with behavioral needs Reinforce academic instruction from teachers and help adapt lessons as needed Assist in the implementation of individualized education programs (IEPs) and behavioral plans Monitor student engagement and provide proactive prompts for appropriate behavior Document observations on student performance and behavior Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and families to support a positive learning environment Maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom atmosphere This school-based role enables you to make a daily impact and grow professionally in an energetic and supportive community.
