Job Description

UW Children's Center at Portage Bay is searching for an infant assistant teacher to join our school. The assistant teacher role will support in our infant classroom (3 months old
  • 18 month old). Our school follows RIE (Resources for Infant Educarers). To learn more about the RIE philosophy

org/educaring-approach/ Key responsibilities include:
Bringing joy, warmth, and welcome to the classroom environment Supervision and engagement of children Supporting children's bodily care, including toileting/diapering Working as a positive contributing member of a team of teachers Engaging with families Organization of classroom environment Supporting in the creation of projects school wide Occasionally supporting our kitchen team by doing dishes To be successful in this role, candidates must be reliable and flexible, with a positive attitude and willingness to work collaboratively. School needs can change quickly and being able to adapt in a moment's notice is ideal. The shift for this role will be 10AM
  • 6PM or 12PM
  • 6PM, Monday
  • Friday.
Minimum Performance Standards:
Must be able to: Lift up to 50 lbs Move from floor to standing on a repeated basis Pivot on a daily basis to support the needs of the school Learn different classroom styles (with training) Attend events which serve the families enrolled within the classroom to which you are assigned
