Job Description The UW School of Pharmacy has an opportunity for a Temporary Program Assistant, within the Doctor of Pharmacy program , that will support various initiatives within the Office of Student and Academic Services. Responsibilities for this position (Program Assistant (NE
H NI SEIU 925
Non Supv)) include supporting the experiential education learning management system as well as the Canvas LMS, monitoring student compliance and communicating with students, supporting events, and assisting with student organization operations. This position will report to the Assistant Dean for Assessment & Accreditation and works closely with various members of the SAS faculty and staff including the teams of experiential education and academics/assessment, as well as with the Associate Dean for Professional Pharmacy Education.
Job Responsibilities:
Program Operations - 80% FTE Support Experiential Education Operations Enter and manage data and profiles in
CORE ELMS
experiential education management system Entering Experiential Availability Reviewing Schedules and making rotation changes as directed Monitor student progress and compliance for various aspects of SAS including Experiential education assignments and requirements Monitor compliance for Professional Development/Co-curriculum Manage U-World Compliance Manage Student Records in CORE & TargetX Support Course Evaluations and Program Assessment Manage Canvas pages Current students Incoming students Professional Development Support SAS events including admissions days, wellness days, Professional Development events, etc. Support Student Organization operations Other duties as assigned Communications management - 20% FTE Oversee the email inbox of the various SAS email boxes including professional development programs and serve as back-up for various other email inboxes Provide communication for students involving reminders pertinent to assignments for various SAS programs including experiential education, professional development (co-curriculum), and student organizations Manage the bi-weekly PharmD Bulletin Facilitate communication between students, practicum sites, the school, and other stakeholders as appropriate
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Education, Humanities, Social Work, Social Sciences, Life Sciences, Business, Communications, or related fields. 1 year of experience in program management or project management Strong teamwork orientation and focus; demonstrated experience in participating on high functioning and productive teams Demonstrated proficiency in verbal and written communication with a variety of audiences Demonstrated ability to think creatively; solve problems efficiently; and adapt to an ever changing (educational or health care) environment Proficiency with office productivity software such as Microsoft Office (including Excel, SharePoint, OneDrive, Forms, PowerPoint, etc.). Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration. Desired Qualifications Experience in project management and/or setting priorities and meeting goals for successful program operations, ideally in higher education Experience in or understanding of higher education operations including experiential education (clinical education), particularly in the area of pharmacy training Experience in or understanding of higher education processes and programs Master's degree in Education, Social Work, or related fields Knowledge of University of Washington systems (SDB, MyFinancialDesktop, Ariba, Canvas, CastleBranch, CORE ELMS, etc.) or similar products.
