Full Time | Monday-Friday | Shoreline, WA Vision House is hiring for three full time classroom positions at our
Children's Village Childcare Center:
Lead Teacher
  • Toddlers
  • 9 am
  • 6 pm OR 6:30 pm with 1 hour lunch Lead Teacher
  • Preschool
  • 7 am to 4 pm with 1 hour lunch Assistant Teacher
  • School Age
  • 9 am to 6 pm with 1 hour lunch

00 per Hour DOE The Lead Teacher at Vision House Children's Village Child Care Center plays a crucial role in providing a nurturing, Christ-centered environment where children can develop positive relationships and a love of learning. The Lead Teacher is responsible for planning and implementing developmentally appropriate curricula, fostering a safe and engaging classroom, and maintaining communication with parents and staff. Our Assistant eachers create nurturing, developmentally appropriate, trauma-informed classrooms where children grow cognitively, socially, emotionally, and spiritually.

Shoreline, WA Our new Lead and Assistant Teachers will enjoy the following benefits: Starting pay: $22.00

) Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Employer-sponsored life insurance Childcare tuition assistance for Vision House programs Lead Teachers will: Cultivate positive relationships with children, creating a warm, supportive classroom environment. Plan and implement developmentally appropriate and culturally sensitive early childhood curricula, in coordination with other staff members. Develop daily individual and group lesson plans to meet the developmental needs of the children. Assess children's developmental progress regularly and make recommendations to the Director for any necessary referrals. Organize and maintain classroom supplies, documents, and equipment to support effective learning environments. Coordinate with the Child Care Director in assigning program and household tasks equitably among staff. Maintain daily communication with parents, providing verbal and written updates about their child's progress. Interpret and communicate center policies to assistant teachers and parents. Collaborate with other staff to implement routines and schedules in accordance with the center's standards. Maintain health and safety standards according to licensing requirements and ensure compliance with all state regulations. Assist in leading classroom activities during emergency drills and ensure children's safety in emergency situations. Stay current on best practices and research in Early Childhood Education, particularly as it relates to serving children who have experienced trauma. Maintain necessary records, including attendance and developmental assessments. Provide feedback to the Child Care Director regarding staff performance, program delivery, and curriculum effectiveness. Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall operation of the childcare center.
Qualifications:
Requirements vary slightly by role. Lead Teachers Requirements Minimum 2 years childcare / daycare / preschool experience ECE Initial Certificate (or ability to obtain) and progress toward ECE Short Certificate MERIT registration and STARS training First Aid/CPR certification (prior to start) Food Handler's Permit TB test, MMR verification Ability to pass background check Active Christian faith and ability to sign our Statement of Faith. Ability to work well as part of a team as well as independently. Assistant Teacher Requirements Completed 30 hours STARS training within 90 days of hire or have educational exemption.
ABILITY TO WORK LONGER DAYTIME HOURS DURING SCHOOL BREAKS AND HOLIDAYS.
1-year child care experience preferred. MERIT registration and STARS training First Aid/CPR certification (prior to start) Food Handler's Permit TB test, MMR verification Ability to pass background check Active Christian faith and ability to sign our Statement of Faith. Ability to work well as part of a team as well as independently. Valid driver's license and ability to drive a 12 passenger van.
