We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher Assistant to join our team and help bring that vision to life. About the Role As a Special Education Teacher Assistant, you will play a vital instructional role supporting students with diverse learning needs. You'll work closely with our Special Education leadership team to deliver individualized and small-group instruction, reinforce academic and behavioral goals and help create a safe, structured and engaging classroom environment. What You'll Do Provide direct instruction through small group and one-on-one learning aligned with IEP goals Implement academic and behavioral strategies using established curriculum and lesson plans Support execution of IEPs, BIPs and individualized supports Monitor and document student progress and behavioral data Assist with classroom structure, transitions and daily routines Reinforce positive behavior supports and assist with de-escalation when needed Foster a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment What You Bring Strong communication and interpersonal skills A genuine ability to connect with and support students Patience, flexibility and a team-oriented mindset Ability to stay calm and supportive during challenging situations Comfort with basic technology and documentation Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Education or related field preferred Washington State Teaching License preferred (Special Education endorsement strongly encouraged) Experience working with students with disabilities and severe behavioral struggles is highly valued Training in Special Education, ABA, behavioral support, CPI or related areas is a plus Must meet required background check standards Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods Ability to lift up to 45 pounds when needed Willingness to support physical safety interventions (if trained) Ability to respond quickly in active or crisis situations Why Join Embrace Learning Institute?
