Responsibilities include providing individualized assistance to students with diverse learning needs, reinforcing lessons through one-on-one or small group instruction, and implementing accommodations outlined in Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). Collaborating closely with the classroom teacher, the Educational Assistant creates and maintains a supportive atmosphere conducive to academic and social growth. Duties may extend to preparing instructional materials, managing classroom resources, and assisting with administrative tasks. Additionally, the Educational Assistant observes and documents student progress, communicates effectively with parents, and contributes to the overall success of the educational experience for each student. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIESInstructional Support Provide individualized support to students with diverse learning needs. Reinforce lessons through one-on-one or small group instruction. Implement accommodations outlined in Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). Collaborate closely with the classroom teacher to create a positive learning environment. Assist in preparing instructional materials and managing classroom resources. Support administrative tasks as required by the teacher or school staff. Observe and document student progress, communicating findings to the teacher. Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere conducive to academic and social growth. Communicate effectively with parents regarding student performance and progress. Contribute actively to the overall success of the educational experience for each student. Serve as proctor or substitute teach if lead teacher is absent QUALIFICATIONS
Required 48 college credits or equivalent associate's degree required. Short-Term Substitute Teacher Licensure issued by Wisconsin's Department of Public Instruction (or eligibility for such licensure) Knowledge of general learning and child development concepts, theories and fundamentals. Strong commitment to, belief in, and alignment with mission and vision of the school. Capacity to supervise group work. Outstanding planning, conflict resolution techniques, problem-solving skills. Assess student projects with their skill level and style in mind. Desired Excellent organization, time management, and follow up skills, demonstrating ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. A strong sense of urgency, prioritizing student experience and outcomes. Strong sense of team and ability to work with and on a team to invest team members and drive outcomes. Charter school experience in an urban setting. Physical Requirements Prolonged periods of mobility through a large campus, and at times prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Required to use motor coordination with finger dexterity (such as keyboarding, machine operation, etc.) most of the workday. Other Requirements Ongoing professional development required.
