Working alongside our library and digital learning specialists, you will play a vital role in managing library resources, providing essential technology troubleshooting, and supporting students as they develop a lifelong love for reading and independent learning.
Job Goal:
Assist and work under the direction of the Library Media Specialist in cataloging, circulating, inventorying and managing library materials and equipment. Assist students and staff in accessing and using library and technology resources. Monitor students and reinforce positive and acceptable behavior in the Library Media Center. Assist in carrying out the mission of our school libraries through the Library Media Center program.
Qualifications Qualifications:
High school diploma required, post-secondary training preferred. Evidence of having worked with children and adults in a positive manner Exceptional interpersonal skills to relate to and interact with students, staff and community. Evidence of the ability to follow directions and apply procedures and rules. Ability to supervise student behavior in a fair and consistent manner. Ability to properly and effectively communicate orally and in written format with students and staff members. Evidence of excellent skills in record keeping and efficiently organizing materials using an established system. Ability to organize tasks, manage time, and work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Knowledge of locating and organization of library resources Knowledge of quality literature resources for educational and leisure reading. Possess technology skills in usage and troubleshooting Demonstrates creativity in setting an environment that is appealing to students.
