Assistant Pre-K Teacher

Job Description Chatter & Chalk Academy is seeking a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Assistant Pre-K Teacher to support our classroom team in creating a positive, engaging, and nurturing learning environment for young children. The ideal candidate enjoys working collaboratively, building meaningful relationships with children, and supporting classroom routines and learning through play and connection. Responsibilities Support the Lead Teacher in daily classroom activities, routines, and lesson implementation Help create a safe, welcoming, and emotionally supportive classroom environment Assist with supervision of children during learning activities, meals, transitions, outdoor play, and rest time Encourage positive social interactions, communication, and independence in students Support classroom organization, cleaning, preparation of materials, and daily tasks Assist with behavior support using positive, developmentally appropriate strategies Communicate professionally and respectfully with families and team members Maintain licensing compliance, health and safety procedures, and classroom policies Participate in trainings, team meetings, and professional development opportunities Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and administration to support student success Preferred Qualifications Experience working with young children in a childcare, preschool, or educational setting preferred Strong teamwork, communication, and flexibility skills Passion for early childhood education and child development Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to take initiative Ability to support a fast-paced classroom environment with professionalism and care Must pass background check(s) and meet all WV childcare regulation requirements

Pay:

$12.00 - $15.00 per hour
