Teacher's Aide / Classroom AssistantSummersville SDA SchoolSummersville, West Virginia 10 Month PositionMonday-Thursday (Occasional Fridays as Needed) Join Our Mission of Christian Education Summersville SDA School is seeking a caring, dependable, and Christ-centered Teacher's Aide/Classroom Assistant to join our school family. We are looking for someone who believes in the value of Christian education and desires to help children grow academically, socially, physically, and spiritually in a nurturing Adventist learning environment. The classroom assistant plays an important role in supporting the teacher and helping provide a positive, organized, and engaging classroom experience for students. The ideal candidate will have a heart for children, a servant's spirit, and a commitment to modeling Christian values. Position Purpose The Teacher's Aide works under the direction and supervision of the classroom teacher to support daily classroom activities and student learning. The aide enhances learning opportunities, assists students as needed, and helps maintain an orderly, attractive, and Christ-centered classroom environment. Our Mission At Summersville SDA School, we strive to help students develop: A personal relationship with Jesus Christ Strong academic skills Positive character and citizenship Healthy lifestyles A lifelong love of learning and service Responsibilities May Include Assisting students individually or in small groups Listening to students read and helping with basic skill development Supervising learning centers, recess, lunch, field trips, and classroom activities Preparing instructional materials, bulletin boards, and classroom displays Copying and organizing classroom materials Correcting papers and filing student work Reading stories aloud and assisting with educational games and activities Helping students follow directions and complete assignments Supporting school programs, rehearsals, and special events Maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment Assisting with worships, devotionals, and spiritual activities Communicating student concerns or observations to the classroom teacher Desired Qualifications A sincere commitment to Christian education Supportive of the beliefs and values of the Seventh-day Adventist Church Enjoys working with children Positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team Dependable, organized, and flexible Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism Experience working with children is preferred but not required Professional Expectations Classroom assistants are expected to model: Christ-like character Cooperation and teamwork Courtesy and respect Promptness and reliability Professional appearance Appropriate Christian language Acceptance and encouragement of others A healthy lifestyle Why Join Summersville SDA School?
