Biology Tutor (In Person) Afterclass Tutors Irvine, CA Job Details Part-time | Contract $20 - $30 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Biology Teaching Certification Undergraduate level tutoring experience Education Working with students Full Job Description We are looking for a dedicated and knowledgeable Biology Tutor to join our educational team. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in Biology and be able to support high school students through personalized tutoring sessions. This role focuses on helping students strengthen their understanding of Biology, improve academic performance, and prepare for AP Biology exams. Responsibilities Provide one-on-one and / or group tutoring sessions in Biology Create and implement lesson plans tailored to each student's needs Help students understand complex biological concepts, laboratory work, homework assignments, projects, and exam preparation Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback Adjust teaching methods based on each student's learning style and academic needs Foster a positive, supportive, and encouraging learning environment Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities as needed Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Biology, Education, or a related field required Teaching certification or relevant tutoring/teaching experience preferred Strong knowledge of Biology and AP Biology concepts Ability to explain difficult concepts clearly and effectively Patient, flexible, and passionate about teaching Ability to work with students from diverse backgrounds and varying skill levels Strong organizational and time management skills
