Job Description

Job Summary We are looking for a dedicated and knowledgeable In-Person Chemistry Tutor to provide high-quality instruction to high school students. This role is ideal for educators who are passionate about chemistry, enjoy one-on-one and small-group teaching, and can explain complex concepts in an easy-to-understand manner. If you have experience in teaching high school chemistry, Honors Chemistry, and AP Chemistry, and enjoy helping students excel academically, we encourage you to apply! Key Responsibilities Provide one-on-one and small group tutoring sessions in Chemistry and Science, including General Chemistry, Honors Chemistry, AP Chemistry, Biology, Physics, and Earth Science. Develop customized lesson plans tailored to students' needs and curriculum. Explain chemical concepts, equations, periodic trends, reactions, and lab techniques clearly and effectively. Assist students with homework, lab reports, test preparation, and chemistry problem-solving strategies. Foster an engaging and interactive learning environment that encourages curiosity and critical thinking. Assess student progress and adjust tutoring strategies accordingly. Communicate with students and parents regarding academic goals and performance. Stay updated on chemistry education trends, AP Chemistry curriculum changes, and effective tutoring techniques. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field (Master's or Ph.D. preferred). Strong knowledge of the high school chemistry curriculum, including AP Chemistry. Prior experience in tutoring or teaching chemistry, preferably at the high school or college level. Ability to simplify complex chemistry topics for students of varying skill levels. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage and motivate students. Patience, adaptability, and a passion for teaching chemistry. Availability for flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. Preferred Skills Experience with chemistry lab techniques and demonstrations. Familiarity with different learning styles and ability to adjust teaching strategies accordingly. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to help students develop problem-solving skills for standardized tests and school exams. Why Join Us?
