Young Scholars is a premier college counseling company dedicated to helping students achieve their academic goals and gain admission to their dream colleges. With branches in Los Angeles, Irvine, La Canada, and Cupertino, we offer comprehensive test preparation and college counseling services.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced SAT English Instructor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both subjects and a proven track record of helping students improve their SAT scores. The instructor will be responsible for designing and delivering engaging lessons, providing personalized feedback, and fostering a supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Instruction:
Teach SAT English content, strategies, and test-taking skills to high school students.
Lesson Planning:
Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to the needs of individual students.
Assessment:
Evaluate students' progress through practice tests, quizzes, and assignments, providing constructive feedback.
Support:
Offer personalized support and guidance to help students achieve their target scores.
Motivation:
Inspire and motivate students to excel in their SAT preparation and academic endeavors.
Collaboration:
Work collaboratively with other instructors and staff to ensure a cohesive and effective test preparation program.
Adaptability:
Stay updated on changes to the SAT exam and adjust teaching methods accordingly.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or a related field. Advanced degrees are a plus.
Experience:
Experience teaching SAT English. Experience with other standardized tests (ACT, GRE, etc.) is a plus.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of SAT content, excellent communication skills, and the ability to engage and motivate students.
Certifications:
Teaching certification or credential is preferred but not required.
Availability:
Flexible schedule with the ability to teach Monday to Friday 9am - 6pm, and weekends as needed.
