Job Description

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Tutor to support students in their academic journey. The ideal candidate will have a passion for education and a strong background in English language arts, with a focus on development of writing skills with various age group students. The Tutor will be responsible for executing engaging lesson plans, managing classroom dynamics, and providing one-on-one instruction to students. The role requires a patient and supportive demeanor, with a commitment to helping students achieve their academic goals.
Responsibilities:
  • Implement individualized lesson plans to support students' learning needs
  • Provide one-on-one instruction and tutoring to students, focusing on geometry, genetics, mechanical engineering, math, machine learning, and differential equations
  • Maintain a positive and respectful learning environment, fostering a sense of safety and inclusivity
  • Use a variety of teaching methods and resources to engage students and promote active learning
  • Monitor students' progress and adjust instruction accordingly
  • Collaborate with teachers and other educational professionals to ensure students receive comprehensive support
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance subject matter expertise and teaching skills
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as education, creative writing, journalism or communication
  • Proven experience in tutoring or teaching
  • Ability to implement engaging and effective lesson plans
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with classroom management and creating a positive learning environment
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with best practices in education
