Job Description

ElevateAbility is seeking a compassionate and engaging Early Childhood Life Skills Tutor to provide one-on-one instruction to a 4-year-old learner with Down syndrome in areas such as communication, routines, play skills, self-care, community participation, and independence. Each 2.5-hour session pays $100! Referral bonuses available. Job Overview An ElevateAbility Life Skills Tutor plays a crucial role in empowering individuals with developmental disabilities and autism by providing tailored instruction and support. Our Teachers engage with learners in their home and community, not in the classroom, in order to foster experiential learning. We are seeking qualified and passionate teachers to serve new learners. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching and a commitment to helping others achieve their fullest potential. This position involves developing and implementing educational programs that enhance life skills, promote independence, and foster personal growth. Duties Develop individualized lesson plans that cater to the unique needs of each learner. Create a positive learning environment. Provide instruction in essential life skills. Collaborate with families and team members to create and monitor learner progress. Conduct assessments to evaluate learner progress. Foster effective communication with learners, parents, and colleagues. Adapt teaching methods to accommodate various learning styles and abilities. Skills Candidates should possess the following skills: Experience in lesson planning. Knowledge of special education practices, including IEP development/execution. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism. Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with learners and team members. Experience in middle and high school classroom settings is a plus, especially experience with transition education and special education. This position requires a dedicated individual who is committed to fostering an inclusive educational environment while promoting the growth of life skills among learners.
