Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and dedicated teacher to join our team in inspiring and educating students across various age groups and developmental stages. This position focuses on providing specialized reading and spelling instruction to students with dyslexia. In this role, you will create an engaging learning environment, follow tailored curricula provided for you, and support the diverse needs of learners. Your enthusiasm will foster a love for learning, promote growth, and help students reach their full potential. The ideal candidate will not only work directly with students in a 1-on-1 setting, but will also undergo training with us [we will show you exactly what to do with the students], and assist in various office errands and tasks. This role offers the opportunity for professional growth, including certifications in our specialized program that can enhance future career prospects. We are flexible with how many days/hours you work per week and we can further discuss what that might look like for you.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Engage in training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge in dyslexia remediation. You will get hands on experience while learning and earning. You will watch the training videos and practice, then you will practice the provided script with us and we will provide you with skills and guided discovery questions to support students who need extra help. Teach reading and spelling strategies specifically designed for students with dyslexia, using evidence-based techniques. We provide you with a program to follow. Assess students' reading abilities and progress regularly, adapting instruction to meet individual needs. Work closely with the lead teacher to develop and implement individualized learning plans. Assist with various errands related to classroom needs, supplies, and student activities. Participate in certifications that validate your expertise in teaching students with dyslexia. Certifications are paid for by the company, and come with an hourly raise. Go onto school campuses and teach 1-on-1 in a separate, private room.
Requirements:
A college degree is preferred but not required. Previous experience working with children. Previous experience working with children who have learning differences is highly desirable, but not mandatory. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to relate to children. A passion for teaching and a commitment to student success. Willingness to undergo training in specialized reading programs and do Certifications.
