Elementary Reading Tutor My Tutor Anywhere San Francisco, CA Job Details Contract $60 an hour 1 hour ago Benefits Flexible schedule Qualifications In-person tutoring Teaching Certification Working with students Student support Elementary school teaching Teaching experience with young children Working with elementary school students Full Job Description We are seeking an experienced reading tutor to work with a rising 2nd-grade student in South San Francisco (near Geneva and Cayuga).
Student Profile:
Attends a Spanish immersion program and receives instruction in both Spanish and English Struggles with guessing and skipping words while reading Needs support building reading stamina and endurance Would benefit from explicit phonics instruction and evidence-based reading intervention
Qualifications:
Experience teaching reading to elementary-aged students Strong understanding of phonics and decoding instruction Training in Structured Literacy approaches (Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, LETRS, SPIRE, or similar) strongly preferred Reliable transportation for in-person sessions
Schedule:
Two sessions per week in June and August (family will be traveling in July) Family is available on weekend mornings and/or around 5:00 PM on weekdays To apply, please provide a brief description of your teaching/tutoring experience, and relevant reading intervention training
