We are currently hiring Elementary School Math Tutors to provide high-dosage academic intervention and in-classroom support in Sunnyvale public schools. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals pursuing careers in education, teaching, child development, or math instruction. Job Type Part-Time (Morning Hours) Start Date Spring 2026 Semester (May only) Schedule Monday - Thursday 8:15 AM - 12:45 PM Location Vargas Elementary School 1054 Carson Dr., Sunnyvale, CA Math Support (Grades 1-3) Position Overview Tutors provide structured, small-group instruction in mathematics within elementary classrooms. Tutors work closely with teachers to support differentiated instruction and accelerate student learning. Responsibilities Provide small-group math instruction (and occasional reading support) Deliver targeted academic intervention aligned with classroom goals Reinforce foundational math and literacy skills Support classroom routines and student engagement Track attendance and basic academic progress Collaborate with teachers and school staff Qualifications Experience working with elementary-aged students Strong math and/or reading proficiency Reliable, punctual, and consistent attendance Comfortable working in a school-based classroom environment Bilingual Spanish-English strongly preferred Ideal Candidates Education majors or aspiring teachers Instructional aides or paraprofessionals Individuals with youth development experience Candidates seeking classroom-based experience Requirements Passion for education and supporting student success Strong communication skills and patience with diverse learners Commitment to consistent attendance during scheduled shifts Completion of BATA onboarding requirements, including: Background check Online training TB clearance Bay Area Tutoring Association is an equal opportunity employer.
