Job Description:
We are looking for a passionate and dedicated in-person dyscalculia tutor to support students in developing stronger math skills, confidence, and number sense. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of teaching or intervention experience and a strong commitment to supporting neurodivergent learners through individualized, evidence-based instruction.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-on-one or small group math instruction to students with dyscalculia and other learning differences. Utilize evidence-based math intervention strategies and multisensory instructional techniques to create personalized learning experiences. Assess students' math abilities and identify gaps in foundational skills such as number sense, computation, math fluency, and problem-solving. Develop individualized lesson plans tailored to each student's learning profile and goals. Foster a supportive and encouraging learning environment that builds confidence, persistence, and positive attitudes toward math. Track and report on student progress, adjusting instructional strategies as needed. Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding student growth, goals, and recommendations. Stay current on best practices in dyscalculia intervention, executive functioning support, and math instruction.
Qualifications:
Master's degree in Education, Special Education, Mathematics Education, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 5 years of teaching, tutoring, or intervention experience, preferably in math instruction or learning disabilities. Experience working with students with dyscalculia, ADHD, dyslexia, or other neurodivergent learning profiles strongly preferred. Strong understanding of evidence-based math intervention practices and foundational math development. Familiarity with math assessments, progress monitoring, and diagnostic tools. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Patience, empathy, and the ability to build strong relationships with students and families. Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining a consistent tutoring schedule.
