Join a veteran teacher established Be Smart Tutoring Company located in St. Petersburg, Florida, dedicated to improving reading skills for children over the summer months.

Role Overview:

We are looking for enthusiastic, experienced certified elementary school teachers to provide quality reading tutoring. As a tutor, you will travel to various summer camp locations within our area, working with small groups or individual diverse learners.

Pay:

$25 per hour for 72 total hours, 1099 contract has 70 hours of tutoring AND 2 hours of administrative tasks to complete.

Curriculum:

Tutors provided with all necessary materials, following a pre-prepared curriculum, eliminating the need for lesson planning.

Preferred Candidates:

Certified teachers with current classroom experience only

Requirements:

Verifiable teaching employment Current background check (either employed teacher or provide level 2 documentation) Reliable transportation Mandatory Availability from June 9th to July 25th 1099 contractor position

Responsibilities:

Manage and educate students in non-classroom settings. Work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds. Adapt to a rapidly changing environment and make quality decisions quickly. Implement provided lesson plans at varying academic levels for elementary grades. Establish academic goals and track progress for students. Document and communicate student progress to director. Keep adequate records. Provide signed verification of tutoring hours. Offer constructive, kind feedback to students. Aim for reading gains for elementary aged children in a summer camp setting.

Qualifications:

FLDOE certified with experience in teaching, tutoring, or related fields. Strong rapport building skills with students, supervisors, and camp staff. Experience teaching phonics, writing, comprehension, and ELA core subjects. Excellent written and verbal communication skills Effective and professional communication with camp directors and Be Smart supervisors.
