Job Summary The Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine is currently seeking a Medical Student Tutor (Per-Diem) to join our team of professionals: Provides supplemental instruction (tutoring) in various modalities such as 1-to-1 and small groups. Assist with ACES course review or assist the ACES team with tasks as needed for continued improvement of the program. Discusses learning, test-taking and study strategies while assisting with course work assignments and questions. Completes session documentation at the completion of each supplemental instruction session. Assists students with composing study guides. Facilitates review sessions during midterm, finals, or other exams and/or as needed based on student needs. Maintains familiarity with all existing ACES (Academic and Enrichment Consultation Services) resources and refers students to resources as appropriate. Follows and upholds FIU academic honesty policies and procedures, FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act) policies and ACES procedures Desired Qualifications Previous tutoring or teaching experience. Knowledge of active learning and study strategies, test-taking strategies, and time-management techniques. Work Schedule Per-Diem - 10-15 hours per week. The schedule varies.
