Key Responsibilities:
Provide in-person, one-on-one tutoring sessions in a public library setting Deliver instruction in 5th Grade Reading, Writing, and Math Build foundational skills in reading comprehension, writing structure, and math concepts Use structured, engaging, and differentiated teaching approaches tailored to the student Adjust instruction based on attention needs, learning pace, and individualized support requirements Prepare and utilize appropriate instructional materials for each session Maintain a structured, supportive, and distraction-minimized learning environment Travel to and conduct sessions at the assigned public library in Lawrenceville, GA Communicate regularly with the coordinator regarding student progress, attendance, and scheduling updates Commit to approximately 2 hours of tutoring per week
Schedule:
2 hrs/week | M/W/F preferred | 4-5 PM or 6-7 PM | No weekends Approximately 2 hours per week
Qualifications:
Prior experience in tutoring, teaching, or academic intervention support. Strong background in Reading and Literacy instruction (reading intervention experience strongly preferred) Experience or comfort working with students with ADHD and/or Autism Spectrum Disorder Familiarity with structured learning environments, preferably in school or public/community settings Patient, adaptable, and able to modify instruction based on individual learning needs Reliable transportation to attend in-person sessions at the designated library Special Education (SPED) experience strongly preferred but not required Ability to maintain consistency and professionalism in a part-time tutoring role.
Priority Requirements:
Strong preference for tutors with Special Education (SPED) experience Experience supporting reading intervention and foundational skill-building Comfort working with neurodivergent learners (ADHD and Autism Level 1) Ability to work effectively in a public library-based tutoring environment Licensing /

$27.00 - $33.00 per hour
