English/Language Arts Tutor
TYPE OF POSITION
Full-time (1.0); 2026-2027 School year; salary per collective bargaining agreement, and commensurate with experience (range $28.41-$29.26/hour)
LOCATION
Marathon School, Hopkinton, Massachusetts
AREA OF CONSIDERATION
All qualified candidates It is the primary responsibility of all Paraprofessionals to provide social-emotional, behavioral, and instructional support and interventions to all students in all settings. The E/LA Tutor works under the direction of the building principal to provide tutoring in E/LA for students. The tutor carries out tutoring plans that are provided for each student to help them acquire skills and knowledge in the area of English Language Arts.
DUTIES:
Duties include, but are not limited to: Carries out tutoring plan provided for each assigned student in one-to-one or small group settings; Continuously monitors students' grasp of the tutoring content, maintains anecdotal records on the same, and reports progress to the students' teachers; Utilizes instructional technology and other instructional resources as indicated on the tutoring plan; Provides verbal support, prompting, redirection and modeling in helping the student(s) access the activities of the curriculum; Works collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and other staff; Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
To be considered qualified for the position of E/LA Tutor , candidates must have/be: Bachelor's degree, Master's preferred, from an accredited college or university, in Reading, English, Education, or related field; Demonstrated ability in, and understanding of, E/LA; Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with children and adults; Ability to take direction in order to carry out tutoring plans; Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate.
