GENERAL DESCRIPTION

DESCRIBING ROLE
): The tutor works collaboratively with teachers to co-plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum based on the Massachusetts State Curriculum Frameworks across the school day. The tutor role assists in managing daily classroom routines and activities, informal assessments of students, data collection as appropriate, and progress reporting to parents.

REQUIRED
QUALIFICATIONS
: Holds an appropriate DESE educator license Ability to handle a multitude of varying and complex issues Excellent oral and written communication skills Ability to use technology effectively
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
(NOT
LIMITED TO
): Planning curriculum and providing the daily instruction to all students as a whole group or a focus group. Participating in workshops and implementing the co-teaching model with the other educators. Reporting student progress to parents of neighborhood children through completion of report cards and participation in parent conferences twice a year (half day release time for parent conferences) Assisting the Educators by providing 1:1 or small group support to special education students in all curricular areas when not leading whole group instruction. Provides direct instruction with the guidance of the educator. Regular and on time attendance is required for support of students. Other duties as needed.
