GENERAL DESCRIPTION

DESCRIBING ROLE

): The tutor administers screening and diagnostic assessments, and with the support of the reading specialist, analyzes the data to develop data-driven literacy intervention instructional plans. Under the supervision of the reading specialist, the tutor provides literacy intervention to small groups of students and monitors student progress.

QUALIFICATIONS

: Holds an appropriate DESE educator license Ability to handle a multitude of varying and complex issues Excellent oral and written communication skills Ability to use technology effectively

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

(NOT

LIMITED TO

): Participates in the administration of, scoring of, and analysis of universal screening, diagnostic, and progress monitoring assessments Participates in team data meetings In collaboration with reading specialist, develops data-driven intervention plans and focused instruction Delivers intervention instruction to students in small groups and occasionally as 1:1 In collaboration with reading specialist, shares student progress data with classroom teachers Regular and on time attendance is required for support of students. Other duties as needed.
