Job Description

Phoenix Therapies+ is seeking an energetic and dedicated Tutor to join our growing team at either our Forest Hill or Bel Air location in Harford County, MD! This role is an as needed (PRN) position that has the potential to grow into part-time or full-time. Typical hours are Monday-Thursday with the option of seeing clients on Friday mornings. Phoenix Therapies+ is a therapist-owned and certified woman-owned private practice that provides customized speech and occupational therapy services based in our outpatient clinic in Forest Hill. We promote quick and efficient carry-over and improved clinical outcomes towards client goals, using the foundation of executive function coaching. We are a small business that prides ourselves on encouraging all of our clients to rise above their challenges and discover their inner phoenix! The Tutor candidate will be expected to provide competent and compassionate consultations with parents, while advocating for students to receive services and accommodations in their school setting. The candidate will be expected to represent Phoenix Therapies+ and honor the high expectations of providing their best for families in our community. The candidate will be able to provide 1:1 tutoring services in the areas of math, reading and writing for all students. The candidate should have experience and knowledge working with parents, understanding and navigating the IEP and 504 process, as well as the scope of special education services in the public and non-public school settings. The ideal candidate will also be open to working collaboratively with other disciplines (SLPs and OTs). The candidate
WILL NOT
be responsible for billing, or scheduling. Our office will work with you to facilitate efficient scheduling.

Responsibilities :
Complete initial consultations/intakes, with consideration to student's and family's academic concerns and goals Complete initial education assessments as baselines for tutoring needs Develop and implement plan focused on the family's goals Provide tutoring services in the areas of math, reading and writing (with possibly additional subject areas as requested by families) Review IEP and/or 504 documentation with families and answer questions to their comprehension Communicate clearly Maintain documentation consistent with Phoenix Therapies+ expectations for all consultation sessions Participate in virtual, phone or in-person consultations or follow-ups with families
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in
Education or Special Education Experience:
One (1) year as an Educator, Educational Advocate, or working in Special Education Additional certifications such as OG (Orton Gillingham), SWI (structured word inquiry), and other reading certifications are a bonus but not required.
