$25 to 35 per hour About Us Good Hope Tutoring Services (GHTS) is a mission-driven organization dedicated to closing academic gaps and empowering students through high-quality, personalized instruction. We partner with local schools and districts to provide small-group tutoring that supports literacy and math growth for elementary students. Position Overview We are hiring certified, passionate educators to provide in-person small-group tutoring in literacy and math for elementary students at Baltimore County parochial schools. Tutors will deliver targeted, engaging lessons designed to strengthen reading, writing, and math foundations for students in grades K-8.
Program Details Program Duration:
October 2025 - May 2026
Schedule:
Monday-Thursday, during the school day (9:00 AM - 3:00 PM)
Suggested Tutoring Schedule:
Monday/Wednesday and/or
Tuesday/Thursday Format:
In-person, small-group instruction (max. 4 students per group)
Location:
Parochial schools within Baltimore County Public Schools (zip codes 21224 & 21234) Applicants must live within a 30-minute commute during normal school traffic (
Note:
You only need to commute to one school site — not both.) Responsibilities Deliver literacy and math instruction aligned with K-8 standards. Use student data to differentiate instruction and track progress. Plan and prepare engaging, grade-appropriate lessons. Conduct 30-minute parent engagement calls every two weeks to discuss progress. Collaborate with school staff and GHTS management to ensure instructional quality. Requirements Current/active Maryland Teaching Certificate (required). BCPS Blue Fingerprint Card (required). VIRTUS Training Certificate (can be completed after hire). Strong instructional skills in literacy (phonics, comprehension) and math (basic operations, application, problem-solving). Experience adapting lessons to meet diverse learning needs. Reliable, professional, and committed to student success.
