Help K-12 students strengthen reading and writing skills in engaging after-school tutoring sessions. Flexible, part-time hours — typically 1-4 hours per week.

What You'll Do Tutor students in reading, writing, and literacy skills Lead engaging after-school sessions for small and mid-sized student groups Help students build confidence and stronger study habits Support skill development through structured practice and feedback About Concorde Education Concorde Education partners with schools nationwide to provide engaging, instructor-led after-school programs in STEM, the arts, academic support, and enrichment. Our instructors bring real-world experience into the classroom to help students build skills, confidence, and curiosity. Position Overview Concorde Education is seeking an engaging English Tutor to support students in grades K-12 (grade band varies by assignment). Tutors help students strengthen reading comprehension, writing, vocabulary, and communication skills through structured, supportive sessions aligned with school goals. Sessions emphasize clear skill development, confidence-building, and strong learning habits. Tutors typically lead weekly sessions across a 10-week program cycle, adapting instruction based on student needs and site logistics. Example Skills Students May Work On Topics vary depending on the assignment and grade level, and may include: Foundational reading skills (phonics, decoding, fluency) Reading comprehension strategies (main idea, inference, evidence) Vocabulary development and academic language Grammar, sentence structure, and writing mechanics Paragraph organization and essay writing Revising and editing written work Academic discussion and communication skills Study strategies and test preparation Organizational and learning habits Responsibilities Provide tutoring and academic support for small and mid-sized student groups Lead structured sessions including modeling, guided practice, and independent work Create a supportive learning environment that builds student confidence and engagement Monitor student progress through informal skill checks and observation Communicate professionally with school staff and Concorde program coordinators Adapt instruction based on student progress and site feedback Qualifications Minimum 60 college credits (Associate degree or in progress acceptable) Strong English Language Arts skills appropriate to the assigned grade band Experience working with school-age students (teaching, tutoring, camps, after-school programs, etc.) Strong communication skills and the ability to explain concepts clearly and patiently Reliable, organized, and professional Comfortable supporting learners with varied learning levels Who This Role Is Great For Teachers and substitute teachers College students studying education or English Tutors and academic coaches Writers, editors, or literacy professionals Anyone passionate about helping students build strong literacy skills
