The Learning Disabilities Association of Minnesota (LDA MN) seeks a dynamic, relationship-driven Tutoring Program Manager to lead and grow a high-impact tutoring program serving students with diverse learning needs. This role centers on cultivating meaningful relationships with families and tutors, ensuring instructional quality grounded in evidence-based practices, and building a cohesive, professional tutoring community. Job Duties:
Key Responsibilities 1. Client Experience & Relationship Development Respond to new client inquiries within 24 hours and lead intake conversations grounded in active listening and needs analysis Match students with tutors based on instructional needs, identity considerations, and relational fit Facilitate initial tutor-family connections and attend first sessions to establish trust and expectations Maintain ongoing, responsive communication with families to support engagement and satisfaction 2. Instructional Leadership Provide direction to tutors regarding curriculum selection and evidence-based instructional strategies Support alignment of tutoring to student needs, including executive functioning, learning disabilities, and behavioral supports Guide tutors in developing and implementing individualized learning plans (e.g., Personal Education Plans) Monitor tutoring quality and provide feedback to ensure impactful, student-centered instruction 3. Tutor Supervision & Professional Learning Conduct bi-weekly check-ins with tutors to support instructional decision-making and problem-solving Share monthly resources and strategies to promote ongoing professional growth Design and facilitate quarterly professional development opportunities that build community and offer CEUs 4. Program Development & Growth Analyze trends in client needs and identify gaps in tutor expertise (e.g., linguistic diversity, disability specialization) Recommend strategic hiring priorities and program improvements Contribute to the development of scalable program models (e.g., small group tutoring, workshops) Support efforts to expand access and reach underserved communities 5. Tutor Hiring & Selection Lead the selection process for new tutors in collaboration with HR/Admin Evaluate candidates for instructional expertise, relational capacity, and alignment with LDA MN's mission Support onboarding and initial training of new tutors
Experience Desired:
Required Qualifications Background in education, special education, school psychology, or a related field Knowledge of evidence-based instructional practices for students with diverse learning needs Experience with learning disabilities, executive functioning, and/or behavioral supports preferred Demonstrated ability to build relationships with families, educators, and students Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive practice Preferred Attributes Ability to think systemically while acting relationally Comfort with ambiguity and adaptive decision-making Experience supervising or coaching educators or tutors Passion for program development and continuous improvement
