Approximately 2-4 hours per week across 2-3sessionsStart Date:

$40-80/hour as a 1099 contractor Thrive is seeking a compassionate, skilled, and emotionally attuned math tutor to support a rising 10th grade student in North Raleigh for summer and ongoing school-year tutoring. This student has experienced significant academic frustration in math and benefits most from calm, patient, relationship-centered support. The ideal tutor understands that confidence, emotional safety, and trust are foundational to meaningful academic progress. This is an excellent opportunity for educators who thrive working with anxious or reluctant learners and who believe tutoring is about more than just content delivery. Student Needs Foundational math remediation and confidence rebuilding Executive functioning and accountability support Gentle redirection around focus and phone distractions Instruction that is paced, scaffolded, and encouraging Support navigating academic anxiety and avoidance patterns We are prioritizing educators who are: Calm, emotionally regulated, and patient Warm but structured in their approach Strong relationship-builders with teenagers Comfortable supporting students with anxiety and low academic confidence Able to balance empathy with accountability Skilled at breaking concepts into manageable pieces Flexible and creative in instruction rather than worksheet-heavy Strong candidates may include: Former Special Education teachers Interventionists Secondary math teachers Tutors experienced with reluctant learners Educators with executive functioning coaching experience Professionals familiar with IEP accommodations Schedule Summer 2-3 daytime sessions per week preferred Some schedule flexibility needed due to family travel School Year 1-2 after-school sessions weekly Qualifications Strong comfort with middle school and early high school math Experience working with adolescents preferred Ability to provide in-person tutoring in North Raleigh Independent contractor (1099) status About Thrive Thrive is a boutique, relationship-driven education company connecting exceptional educators with families seeking highly personalized academic support.
