Job Description:
Position Description Hamilton's Academic Resource Centers provide individualized peer tutoring programs to support the academic work of all students on campus. The Writing Center (WC) and Quantitative and Symbolic Reasoning Center (QSR) are responsible for administering peer tutoring and other support (like workshops and review sessions) in addition to providing resources for faculty teaching. The Fellow for Academic Belonging supplies leadership, programming, and administrative support for the recurring (weekly) tutoring programs in the WC and QSR used by Opportunity Programs (OP) students. The Fellow will report to the Counselor for Academic Belonging in the OP office while also working collaboratively with the directors of all three offices to provide mentorship for new and returning OP students and build a strong connection between students and sources of academic support. In addition to the responsibilities listed below, the Fellow will have the opportunity to develop projects that build on their particular skills and interests related to the role. The Fellow will also participate in professional development opportunities (which may include things like conference attendance/presentation, networking events, and cover letter/resume review) to help build their professional portfolio. This is a one-year (August 3, 2026- June 4, 2027), benefited position on a 65% schedule (1,200 hours) with potential for renewal after one year. The Fellow will work approximately 30 hours/week on a regular schedule (Monday
- Thursday, 10:30 am
- 7:00 pm).
Responsibilities:
Meet with all first-year OP students and identified upperclass students at the beginning of each semester to build meaningful mentoring relationships, gather availability for scheduling, and review recurring tutoring policies and procedures Work with Office Assistants in the WC and QSR to create tutoring schedules and respond to student requests Run weekly reports on tutoring attendance and follow up with students within 48 hours who have absences Create and distribute weekly email to OP students participating in FAB programming Facilitate communication and update key stakeholders of issues and solutions- ex.
Compensation Range:
$23.00- $25.
