Job Description
LingoAce is looking for a reliable and passionate Part-Time Math Instructor to teach in-person K-5 math classes at our Great Neck learning center. This is a long-term teaching opportunity for someone who enjoys working with elementary students and can provide consistent availability during after-school and weekend hours. The ideal candidate has experience teaching K-5 math, small-group classes, tutoring center classes, or enrichment math programs. Strong classroom management is important, as the role requires keeping young learners focused, engaged, and supported in a structured in-person learning environment. Key Responsibilities Teach engaging in-person math lessons to K-5 students in a small-group learning center setting. Deliver concept-driven instruction using Singapore Math principles such as model drawing, number sense, problem-solving, and critical thinking. Create a structured, supportive, and disciplined classroom environment that keeps students focused and engaged. Adapt instruction based on student age, level, learning pace, and classroom dynamics. Assess student progress through classwork, quizzes, assignments, and informal observation. Provide clear and constructive feedback to students and parents on progress, strengths, and areas for improvement. Communicate professionally with parents regarding student learning and class updates. Work with the teaching team to share feedback, improve lesson delivery, and support consistent teaching quality. Requirements Prior experience teaching or tutoring K-5 math is required. Experience teaching small-group classes, enrichment math, learning center programs, or after-school programs is strongly preferred. Strong classroom management skills and ability to maintain focus, structure, and discipline with young learners. Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written. Knowledge of Singapore Math curriculum, model drawing, or concept-based math instruction is a plus. Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field is preferred. Reliable, responsible, and able to commit to a long-term teaching schedule. Candidates located near Great Neck or able to commute consistently are strongly preferred.
