About Jefferson Community College:
Come work in beautiful northern New York at Jefferson Community College, located in Watertown, New York, near the shores of Lake Ontario and the St. Lawrence River. One of 30 community colleges in the State University of New York (SUNY) system, Jefferson serves students pursuing credit courses in liberal arts, business, math, science, allied health and technology for transfer or career purposes. We also offer a multitude of workshops for professional training, personal development, and youth. : Jefferson Community College is currently seeking a part-time Professional Tutor in Nursing. The appointment period for this grant-funded position is the academic year (9 month). This position supports student success by strengthening students' understanding of nursing concepts, enhancing clinical reasoning, and improving psychomotor skills essential for academic and clinical excellence. This position is a collaborative role with the Nursing Success Coach and peer tutors to foster a supportive, inclusive learning environment that promotes retention, achievement, and NCLEX readiness.
Requirements:
Required:
Current and unencumbered Registered Nurse license in New York State. Associate degree in nursing from an accredited institution. Demonstrated clinical experience in nursing practice. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations. Commitment to student success and academic support.
Preferred:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing or a related field. Experience in tutoring, teaching, precepting, or academic coaching. Familiarity with nursing education tools, simulation, and learning platforms (e.g., Blackboard, ATI, or similar). Familiarity with SUNY system and ADN curriculum. Knowledge of
NCLEX-RN
preparation strategies and tools.
Additional Information:
$26/hour
