Responsibilities:
1. Provides instruction which remediates, enriches, and/or supplements the regular classroom instructor. 2. Prepares and maintains an outline of classwork and procedures for individual/small group work that will insure attainment of short and long term goals. 3. Organizes and structures materials for the most effective use of scheduled class time. 4. Tests the students using both standardized tests and informal assessments; provides test information for selection criteria and yearly evaluative reports. 5. Provides a personalized diagnostic/prescriptive format of instruction for the children based on student needs. 6. Prepares individual records for each student enrolled in the program, making these available as needed to the classroom teacher, the building principal and the Curriculum Director. 7. Promotes, encourages and documents communication with parents through reporting, phone conversations, conferences and parent meetings. 8. Participates in periodic professional meetings convened by the Curriculum Coordinator and/or building principal in order to maintain a coordinated project and anticipate program needs. 9. Promotes, encourages and documents communication with the classroom teacher through written reports and both formal and informal conferences and meetings.
