Positions begin September 1, 2026 AmeriCorps is a life-changing service experience for those who serve as well as those who receive the service. Join Ohio Reading & Math Corps and make a real impact on students' lives! Seeking service-oriented people to provide elementary level tutoring for K-5 students in local elementary schools as a Member of Ohio Reading & Math Corps! Work with students who are below-proficient in reading for their grade level. Members receive training and are assigned to one school for the school year Members will provide tutoring to a set list of students in small groups or in 1:1 settings. This is a great way to give back to the community, help students, and gain valuable experience for those interested in obtaining a job in a school district. Placements include multiple elementary schools in the Central Ohio region. Traditionally, openings include Reynoldsburg City Schools, KIPP Columbus Primary School, Horizon Science Elementary, and Educational Academy for Boys and Girls. This is a service position with AmeriCorps, requiring 30 hours/week September 1st - May 31st following the school schedule. Total commitment is 900 hours over 9 months. In return for service, Members receive a stipend of $1,500 per month, plus an Education Award of up to $3, 850 upon completion of the term. This can be used to pay student loans or college tuition.
